Chocolate Coconut Bars

I love chocolate and I love coconut and I was looking for the perfect dessert that would marry the two ingredients! I found a recipe online but it seemed a bit indulgent so I decided to make it my own with a few healthier options! This is now my absoultely new favorite dessert recipe and everyone in my family loved them and I think you will too! 

Ingredients

1/2 coconut oil
1 1/2 cup almonds
3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 ounces dark chocolate chips
1 package low fat cream cheese at room temperature
1 egg
1 cup unsweetened flaked coconut

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Melt oil in a microwave safe dish and pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Pulse almonds in a food processor for two minutes then add ground almonds and 1/4 cup of sugar and mix well. Press down into place and bake for 20 minutes.

Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave safe dish at 45 second increments until totally melted, stirring between each increment. Add egg, cream cheese and the remaining sugar and stir until completely combined. Pour over crust and spread evenly, then top with coconut. Press the coconut down lightly so that it adheres to the chocolate. 

Bake for 30 minutes and them place under broil to toast coconut for 2 minutes dont forget!  Allow to chill in the refrigerator for an hour and cut into squares.

aceite de coco 1/2

1 1/2 taza almendras granulada

3/4 de taza de azúcar

4 onzas chocolate oscuro virutas

1 paquete queso bajo en grasa crema a temperatura ambiente

1 huevo 1 taza sin endulzar copos de coco

Direcciones

Precaliente el horno a 350 grados. Derretir el aceite en un recipiente adecuado para microondas y verter en una asadera de 9 x 13 pulgadas. Almendras de pulso en un procesador de alimentos durante dos minutos después agregar almendras molidas y 1/4 taza de azúcar y mezclen bien. Presione hacia abajo en su lugar y hornear por 20 minutos. Derretir las chispas de chocolate oscuros en un recipiente adecuado para el microondas en incrementos de 45 segundos hasta que se derrita totalmente, removiendo entre cada incremento. Agregar el huevo, queso crema y el azúcar restante y revuelva hasta combinar los ingredientes completamente. Vierta sobre la corteza y uniformemente, luego cubra con coco. Presione el coco ligeramente para que se adhiera al chocolate.  Hornear por 30 minutos y ellos lugar debajo de asar para tostar el coco para 2 minutos no se olvide!  Dejar enfriar en el frigorífico durante una hora y cortar en cuadrados.
