When I travel I love to learn about the destination’s history and soak up the local culture. Mexico is so rich with culture that I knew I had to take advantage of every possible moment so at the top of my excursion list was a trip to Chichen Itza in the Yucatan peninsula. The city is rich in Mayan history over 1,000 years old. The Kukulkan or the pyramid was previously a ceremonial site constructed between 6th and 10th centuries. Games and rites were held in this vast field and is considered a 7th wonder of the world! Getting there was fun with our bus tour ride filled with fun historian stories and plenty of tequila shots and sunrises! if you are in the Cancun or Tulum area you must put it on your list!
